Sarajevo - Day 3

At 6:15 a.m. as every morning, we were woken up by muesin. The light from the minaret was reflected on the roof covered with white duvet. "Snijeg, snijeg !!!!" (snow, snow) I cried excitedly. What would the mountains be and a visit to the Winter Olympics city in December without snow ?! After a while we were all excited about jumping out of bed for the last day in this town, which was supposed to be a winter sports celebration.

Sarajevo - Day 2

Day 2

The first day in Sarajevo was in the spirit of Ottoman culture and history. The next day we had the program a bit sadder. Unfortunately, an inseparable part of Sarajevo is the warthat accompanied the collapse of the former Yugoslavia and the emergence of a new state Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Sarajevo had about 530,000 inhabitants before the war. In the city lived side by side Serbs, Croats and Bosnians, Christians (Orthodox and Catholics), Muslims and Jews. This fact was probably not the will of politicians and unfortunately someone else

Sarajevo - Day 1

Day 1

SarajevoFirst day was dedicated to the tour of the city center and maximum saturation of the local atmosphere. Our intake of local culture has already started with the Sheikh Ferah Mosque, peering through the windows. We couldn't go inside, but the exterior was also enough for us. At almost every mosque, we found a small cemetery, a well and a cat.

Sarajevo - city of Vučko

Sarajevo impression

Who would not remember the lovely little Vučko, who rides on skis, then on bobsleighs, skates and finally throws himself from the ski jump? It is certainly remembered by anyone who experienced the Winter Olympic Games in 1984. They were held in the then very modern Yugoslav city of Sarajevo. A few years later, this very specific city surrounded by mountains was struck by a war that marked it forever.

Budva and its beaches - jewelry

Budva beach impression

I have already mentioned the fact that Budva in Montenegro (https://a-trips.sk/budva/) is ideal for a summer holiday. Its great advantage is the number of beaches directly in the city or in an accessible distance. A common feature of these beaches is the clear sea, pebble beach and gradual entry into the sea.
